FOUNDATION LICENCE CLASS - NOVEMBER 2007.

THE "AMATEUR RADIO FOUNDATION LICENCE CLASS" HELD IN NOVEMBER 2007 WAS A RESOUNDING SUCCESS!

23 Dec 2007

Eight people attended Cray Valley's Foundation Licence Class which was held in November this year.
Some had connections to the hobby through family or friends - others were just interested. A couple of candidates had many years of experience in restoration of vintage equipment; another was an ex-11 metre sideband user. Everybody had a story to tell!
Cray Valley members rallied round to host the classes at the 1st Royal Eltham Scout hall - well over a dozen members helped out at various levels throughout the 2-day course.
Their patience was rewarded with seven out of eight passes (the eighth is the subject of an appeal - so no more comment there!).

Callsigns known so far are:

Jim Newman - M3VSI
Phil Buckley - M3VJX
Adam Garret - M3WOU
Tirza Collings - M3YIB
Lorraine Wolfe - M3VXN

Look out for them on the air - especially after Santa calls at Christmas; They all worked very hard to achieve their passes and we hope that those living close to Eltham will become active members of Cray Valley - just as they have a lot to offer us; we hope we have a lot to offer them!

(I know at least one of the 'new' licence holders is already heading for his Intermediate within months - now there's determination!).
