The Chairman's Christmas Dinner has become an annual event for Cray Valley Radio Society members, and their friends and families. For the last few years the restaurant at 'The Leather Bottle' in Belvedere has been the chosen venue - and has served the Society well.
Organised by current Chairman, Bernard Harrad (G3NPS) and his wife Shirley; the evening was a resounding success. The original, and current, rules of the Society state that 'one social event must take place every year in which radio is not mentioned'!
The Chairman's Christmas Dinner is one such event; Amateur Radio is sidelined in favour of other conversation - apart from the obligatory Chairman's Speech! This is one of the most popular social events of the year - every year - with member's families, and friends, meeting up - again; in a social atmosphere.
