CHRISTCHURCH ARS - G100RSGB

Christchurch ARS used the special call G100RSGB to celebrate the RSGB Centenary on 28th and 29th March.

Day 1 was spent mostly on 80/40m working inter-G during daylight and then into Europe as the skip lengthened into darkness hours, notable was VA (Canada) worked by John G0VDI on 20m CW. Day 2 started much the same but 20m opened up late afternoon into early evening to record some nice contacts around Europe and later to both N and S Americas (from Canada down eastern US seaboard through Caribbean to Brazil). Notable were VK2 (Australia), 4Z5 (Israel), 9H5 (Gozo), CS8 (Azores), 3B8 (Mauritius), VP8 (Falklands), ZF (Cayman Islands) and 6Y5 (Jamaica) – all SSB, 200W on the beam.
