About our club

Background

Christchurch ARS was formed in 1985 and originally drew it's members from the adjacent Siemens Plessey communications/electronics factory and research establishment.

Now open to anyone with an interest in radio the Club offers a well equipped HF/VHF shack, active contest group and access to bar, sports and social facilities. Our radio facilities can be accessed 24/7 by members using a simple procedure.

Training is also offered by qualified tutors up to Advanced level. We are an RSGB registered exam centre (DT 63). Please see News and Events page for upcoming course dates.

Directions:-
From Central Christchurch take the A35 Christchurch bypass (posted Lyndhurst, Lymington, travelling east). At the Somerford roundabout (Sainsburys on left hand side and footbridge over) take the A337 Highcliffe Road – second exit. Note you can’t turn right into Grange Road as this section is dual carriageway. Continue ¼ mile to next roundabout (Hoburne roundabout) return back down Highcliffe Road (fourth exit) and take the first (and only) left turn into Grange Road after 200yds. Turn into second car park entrance on the right with East Christchurch Sports and Social Club to your left and park in rear car park if possible. The Christchurch ARS Clubhouse is the blue painted hut with the antenna towers outside
