Work started on setting the station up at about 9am.
It was a grey cloudy, windy April morning, oh boy was it cold out in the wind. once the tent was up, work started on putting the Clark mast up, this time we would be using a G5RV and the new club radio the Yaesu ft857d.on air 10am.
Band conditions proved to be hard work on 40 meters but we stuck at it and worked about 60 stations in all including some into Europe, best of all was working GB6RAF from RAF rednall, and ON5SM in Flanders field a WW1 site.. operators were Mark G1PIE, Peter M6PRR, Brian M6DNQ, Tony 2E0TRH, and yes Brian M3XCM and Pam 2E1HQY logging all day.
The other members helped with the setting up. I could hear a good bit laughter from the tent so a good time was had by all.
The station shut down about 3pm
