A BUILDATHON!

WHAT'S A BUILDATHON - READ ON AND JOIN IN!

20 Oct 2011

Ever wanted to have a go at homebrewing your own transceiver or just bits to make life easier?

Studying for the Intermediate licence exam and don’t know what project to build?

Then here is the event for you!

The Buildathon will allow those with limited soldering experience to develop their skills under the watchful eye of some very experienced homebrewers.

The event is open to anyone who would like to try out homebrewing for the first time. There will be two categories; (1). A 'simple' project; build it and make sure it works, on the night. Then case it as you wish. (2). An 'experimental' project (not difficult to build) which will require a bit of extra work (and maybe a 'talk at the club') to make the most of a 'learning experience'.

Contact Richard G8ITB with details of the category you wish to join in; name, callsign and Maidenhead locator are required.

Note: Richard is making up kits for the event; so if you don't contact him you won't have a kit ready for you - there will not be any spare kits 'on the night'.

So whether you are studying for your Amateur Radio Intermediate exam, or you have held a full licence for years but never raised any soldersmoke in anger, this is the event for you. Bring a soldering kit, safety spectacles; etc.

Meet at 7.30pm for an 8.00pm prompt start at The Scout Hut, off Southend Cresent/Footscray Road junction, Eltham, SE9.
